Jakob Anckarsvärd’s
work explores the anti aesthetic element that occurs when the
calculated and irrational
line meet. If the structures leave the paper, the work aims
to reflect problematic situations. These situations vary from
phenomena
in everyday
life to more extreme circumstances. He has also been exploring
psychological and mythological aspects of life-brought into
focus through his work
in a mental hospital. Jakob will show a new sculptural work
made of flowers and inspired by the recurring themes of tragedy
and
grief.
Emma Greenwood also creates installations that are temporary
and unique. Too complex to be reconstructed, her ‘displays’ are
part of an ongoing process and the parts will be absorbed back
into future work in different roles and contexts. She is fascinated
with processes of accumulation and will use found objects to
manipulate and colonise the space.
